Cycling and scooting to school
Cycling and scooting is ideal for older pupils, and great for younger pupils accompanied by parents / guardians:
- It's a great way to exercise! The NHS recommends that children get at least 1 hour of exercise a day - cycling and scooting contributes to this.
- It's good for the environment! Cycling and scooting to school reduces the number of cars on the road and helps reduce air pollution and global warming.
- It builds independence and road safety awareness.
Top tips
- Make sure your child's bicycle / scooter is road worthy.
- We recommend your child wears a helmet and brings a suitable lock, so that their bike is safe while they're at school.
Below are some measures and activities the school may introduce as part of the School Travel Plan. Any additional suggestions / thoughts will be warmly welcomed by the school.
