Women across Nottinghamshire are being invited to share their views on improving healthcare information and services across the county.
The county council is running a survey to find out about women’s experiences of accessing health services and information. The responses to the survey will be used to help decide which areas to focus on over the coming years to improve women's health.
Sexual health, menopause and other women-specific health conditions are among topics in the survey.
In Nottinghamshire, as with the UK, women are living longer than men but spending more of their lives in ill health. The survey aims to understand this, by hearing what it is like to be a woman in Nottinghamshire and what helps to keep women in the county healthy. This includes understanding what is most important to women about health and wellbeing, including factors such as employment, housing, and the surrounding environment.
Councillor Scott Carlton, Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Health said:
“We want women to feel heard in their specific health and wellbeing needs and be able to live safe and healthy lives. It is crucial that we hear from them and understand their experiences of accessing health services so that we can make the improvements that are needed. Women aged 16 and over, are encouraged to take part in the anonymous survey, which closes 20 December.”

Nottinghamshire County Council also recognises that other groups, including men, also experience health inequalities, and these are being addressed through other programmes of work.
