Due to financial pressures, there will be a 40p increase in the cost of a school meal provided by Nottinghamshire County Council, in effect from 16 October 2023.
Unfortunately, due to rising food, staff and energy costs, the price for a council-supplied meal paid for by schools will increase from £2.55 to £2.95.
Schools which receive their meals via the council’s catering team have been contacted to explain this increase via emails and letters.
The majority of these schools will have also had a phone call to ensure they are aware of these changes and can pass on this information to parents and guardians where relevant
The council continues to contribute towards the overall costs of providing the meals. The new price still represents very good value for these high quality, nutritionally balanced meal
