Community Friendly Nottinghamshire
Community Friendly Nottinghamshire is a Nottinghamshire County Council project focusing on helping communities come together to act on shared visions, enhancing neighbourhoods, and overcoming concerns. Using a community organising approach, neighbourhood coordinators reach out, listen to and connect with residents, encouraging residents to take action on the things they care about most.
Do you have a great idea about how to make your neighbourhood a better place? We want to hear it! We are a part of a growing network offering opportunities, peer support, and others who may like your idea. We also offer training in community organising.
We've already helped residents to set up a range of new groups, projects and activities including breakfast and lunch clubs, coffee groups, reminiscing groups, Good Neighbour schemes, litter picks, dog walker groups and many more.
If you have a passion or an idea you would like to discuss, please get in touch.

Training
The CFN team delivers a suite of quality-assured training to equip front-line professionals and passionate residents with practical skills and tactics to ignite community action. We want people to adopt a ‘Community Friendly’ mindset, which means the residents feel supported to put their ideas into action to connect with neighbours and improve their community.
The training and support are provided by two lead trainers who have extensive experience supporting and engaging with communities and have supported the establishment of hundreds of new community projects and activities. The training is backed up by active learning events, where participants are supported to execute their own listening campaigns and start supporting resident-led community action.
In addition, there is practical advice from our Local Community Fund officers, who can help access potential funding opportunities and guide new community projects to become established.
We can offer training and advice to not only Nottinghamshire residents and professionals but to those across the country. Find out about our training to engage, empower and strengthen communities.
Our training is suited for front-line community professionals and residents to gain knowledge and practical tips to find new leaders, inspire resident-led community action and help build stronger and better-connected communities and improve health inequalities.
