Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2)
Supporting energy efficiency for low-income households
The Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2) offers funding to help low-income households in Nottinghamshire make their homes more energy efficient. This programme supports properties that are off the gas grid and focuses on improving heating systems and insulation to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs.
About HUG2
The government’s HUG2 scheme provides fully funded energy-saving upgrades for homes that are hard to heat and not connected to the gas grid. These upgrades include insulation and low carbon heating solutions, aimed at reducing energy bills while improving comfort.
Who can apply?

- Your annual household income is below £30,000 or you receive qualifying benefits.
- Your property has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D, E, F, or G.
If you don’t have an EPC, you will receive a FREE EPC assessment to determine your eligibility.
What improvements are available?
