Ryan House Team – Ryan House Day Nursery
Staff at Ryan House Day Nursery have sought every opportunity to develop partnership working with outside professionals and the local community. Intergenerational working was introduced with staff and children visiting Westdale care home weekly and vice versa with the residents regularly visiting the nursey for stay and play sessions, story times, dinner and graduation. Forest schools was implemented culminating in the proprietor buying a woodland to offer all children the chance to learn, grow and become environmental citizens. Ryan House has worked in partnership with Nottingham Trent University offering students a home grown graduate scheme and many student placements to help students learn and develop outstanding skills and practice. Staff have worked inclusively with many outside professionals working with children with complex needs with the nursery being recommended for these special children and the SENCO achieving level 4 undertaking a new qualification by Liverpool college.
Ryan house are an extremely inclusive setting. They have many children with a variety of additional needs and ensure that all children have the same opportunities. Every single professional that has attended the setting has commented on the care and provision that is provided, some now sending their own children to Ryan house. Many parents have been referred to Ryan house by other professionals based on their provision, support and love for all children regardless of needs.
