Christine McGrath – Fernwood Day Nursery
Christine has worked tirelessly to meet the ever-changing needs of the children returning from the pandemic, she put the children first planning a range of amazing activities to engage and motivate them to learn. Christine works closely with parents and supports children into their transition within the nursery. She also helps children who have returned with additional need especially helping vulnerable families and two-year funded children. Christine supports children emotionally offering the support and nurturing they need. I would highly recommend Christine for her long service dedicated to improving lives of young children.
Christian is an excellent practitioner, she is enthusiastic, a good role model and goes above and beyond. Christine has good relationship with parent/carers by supporting them, sign posting them to appropriate agencies and working together to ensure their child receives the best learning experience.
My son F had a difficult time transitioning from his old nursery to Fernwood Day Nursery due to his shy nature but the staff at the nursery especially Christine have made him feel very welcome and have let him settle at his own pace. Whenever I question F about his day, he just says how much fun he has had with Christine and that she’s his best friend which melts my heart a little, it’s very reassuring to me that F had now settled well and has formed some close bonds.
Christine always goes above and beyond for all of the children in the setting. Her imaginative and exciting play encourages children of all abilities to learn and grow in different ways. No matter what she always ensures the children leave with a smile on their face and happy memories to take home with them.
Christine is such a hard worker and contributes massively within the room. She has offered not only myself but others a lot of guidance and support. There has never been a day where she hasn't gone above and beyond to make the children and staff laugh. It is clear to see that working with children is a passion she has. Kind, enthusiastic and caring are a few words to best describe her. If life is a little rainy, she always manages to brighten up the day.
Christine has worked at the setting for over 10 years, she always puts the children first and is so engaged with them and their learning. She’s constantly giving her time and her own money to buy extra resources for the children, she’s completely selfless. She does the best role play ever and the children love her so much.
Christine has a natural ability to build caring, professional relationships with children and their families. She gives 100% every day to make sure that children receive the best opportunities and that the children’s time in nursery is fun and stimulating.
Christine doesn’t always believe in herself, but she should, as toddler rooms senior staff member, she is so fun and engaging with the children and try’s her hardest every single day.
Christine is an exceptional member of staff who isn’t afraid to get on all fours giving the children donkey rides to her brilliant disco dough sessions and rhyming children’s names "Morgan plays the organ" to help them learn rhyming words.
Always wanting to be helpful to both staff and children and is a great role model to both.
