Fernwood Day Nursery

• The staff at Fernwood Day Nursery have always been welcoming, engaging, and caring with both of my children and us as parents. They all take the time to get to know the children as well as parents/families to ensure that children are settled as best they can.
  When the pandemic hit, this did not falter. They kept in constant touch while our children did not attend and when they did return, their safety measures were of the highest standard, meaning we felt confident in sending them back knowing they were in the best care.
  I cannot recommend Fernwood Day Nursery highly enough.

  
  The nursery & out of school club provides a great childcare service. They go above and beyond to support the children and families. They take my child to and from school, provide childcare over the school holidays and support my child in getting ready for activities (e.g., swimming) outside the setting! They have even provided my child with a plate of food today to take away as we left the setting just before tea (to go swimming). This was super helpful! My child has been going to the nursery for years and all the teams there in each of the rooms have been great.

  
  I have worked with this amazing team for over 11 years, it’s too difficult to nominate just one team member as we have all worked so hard together through difficult and challenging times to provide the best care possible for our children and working together alongside parents building positive relationships, speaking as a parent myself my little boy absolutely loves his time at nursery, the staff are all so lovely and helpful, communication is great. I feel so privileged to be able to work alongside such a brilliant hardworking team.

  
  I would like to nominate my team at Fernwood Day Nursery. They go over and above to support every child as an individual and to develop partnerships with parents. They have all been committed to supporting us achieving our Communication friendly settings status which I am so proud of. The staff communicate professionally with all visitors to the setting from outside agencies and are open to change and adapting practice to improve our provision.

  
  Supported my child with the transition from nursery to school setting, as well as support with the transition to breakfast club and after school club. This was a turbulent time for my daughter, struggling with the transition and new people after covid times, but the setting supported my daughter and me, as well as worked with the teacher at school as well. They genuinely worked together for the benefit of my child.

  
  My daughter is in owls’ room, and she is excelling in every way. I feel they know her incredibly well and do everything they possibly can to meet her needs. They are always positive with her and us as parents and she is very happy to attend every day. In fact, she gets upset when she isn’t able to go because of an illness!!

  
  Being a Room leader of the Caterpillar Team, I wanted to show off the amazing team of Ladies I have! They all work so great together ensuring all of the children in our care are well loved and cared for. Having only been a room leader for a short time they are always there to offer advice and support.

  
  I nominate the team at Fernwood Day Nursery. They provide the best possible care and education for my two children- I wouldn’t take them anywhere else! They care about all of the children and the children have so much fun. The meals are great, good choice of activities and lovely environment.

  
  My son E has been going to after school club for 5 years and he loves it. Over the years they have helped him grow and have shown nothing but absolute love for him. The whole club go out of their way to make the children happy and feel like they are truly listened to.

  
  A team of 6. Always working together for the same outcome and to make the nursery day for the babies stimulating, fun and full of learning opportunities, whilst meeting the babies needs and enhancing their experiences. Best team ever.

  
  All of the staff at Fernwood Day Nursery are amazing. The support and commitment that they have given through COVID and beyond is second to none and through their support and hard work our sons have thrived. Thank you to them all.
