Choosing childcare checklist

You may wish to visit several providers before you decide which one is for you.

Follow our childcare checklist to help you decide:

• Ask to see staff qualifications.
• Is the environment safe and secure?
• What’s on the lunch and snack menu?
• Who supervises and how?
• How many staff are there to children?
• Is the equipment creative, varied and high quality?
• Are the toilets clean and appropriate for children?
• What happens in case of an emergency?
• Ask to see the Ofsted inspection.
