Why devolution?

If our devolution plans are approved, it could mean:

• significantly more funding for services in our region
• more major decisions made locally, near the people they affect
• our region has a bigger voice.

We are asking for greater autonomy and funding for key areas including:

• public transport and infrastructure
• investment for business growth
• jobs, skills, and training
• employment, education, and skills
• regeneration and improved environment

Devolution plans are all about getting a better deal for our area so we can improve the lives and experiences of people who live, work, and visit Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Devolution is a big opportunity for our area. If we don’t take it, we could miss out and potentially fall behind other regions.
