The Local Improvement Scheme
The Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) 2018-21 was set up to provide targeted financial support for community organisations to deliver the council's priorities to make Nottinghamshire a great place to live, work, visit and relax - which are at the heart of the Council Plan 2017 - 21.
Financial contributions from the LIS helped organisations provide much needed services and deliver projects that will leave a legacy for years to come; creating connections between people who freely give their time, expertise and support in a range of volunteering roles.
The County Council awarded LIS funding as a contribution towards 425 revenue and capital projects and 275 Talented Athletes across Nottinghamshire during 2018-21.
Find out more about how LIS funding benefits communities.
The LIS has now come to its natural end and is closed to new applications.
Other support
Nottinghamshire County Council is committed to offering support to the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS).
On the 29th October 2021, Nottinghamshire County Council launched a new Local Communities Fund, which replaces the LIS. Find out more about the Local Communities Fund
Our Support, Advice and Networking webpage includes links to a range of help and support including the NCVO Funding and Income Planner and other possible sources of funding, which you may find helpful.
If you would like to discuss your VCS project and ways in which the Communities Team may be able to offer some support, please email communities.team@nottscc.gov.uk
Acknowledging funding
Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) must be acknowledged as a funder as part of all publicity about the funded project, including any written or spoken public presentations.
We'd love to share your stories about how County Council funding is benefitting local communities. Remember to let us know about your events or any publicity plans in advance (ideally 8 weeks). LIS-funded organisations can tell us about their publicity plans (e.g. launch events, open days, press-releases), by emailing our Communications Team: marketing.team@nottscc.gov.uk
Coronavirus pandemic
The Council recognises that publicity plans may be impacted by any Coronavirus restrictions, therefore organisations will need to ensure that any publicity events are fully in line with guidance at the time of the event.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic, organisations may need to reschedule or cancel their proposed event – this may be at short notice.
Organisations should use the logos below to help promote the financial support of NCC:
Please remember to follow the brand guidelines outlined in the Funding Acknowledgement document below:
