Make a Freedom of Information (FOI) request
Before you continue
Before you submit your request, you should check that the information is not already available on our website:
- Search the council’s publication scheme
- Check the FOI search tool for previously answered FOI requests
Eligibility
Anyone can submit a FOI request to ask for information that we hold. You can use this service to ask for information under the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations. Anyone can submit a request and you do not have to give a reason for your request.
You cannot request personal information that we hold about you through this service. Instead, complete a Subject access request (SAR)
You will need
- your name
- your email address, or postal address if you don’t have one
- a clear description of the information you need
- how you would like to receive the information, for example as a spreadsheet
What will happen next
The fastest and most environmentally friendly way to make a request is by using our online form or by email. We will respond to your request by email, unless you specify otherwise.
If you do write to us by post, please include an email address if you have one so we can email you back.
