Identify Travel Plan Champion(s)

A Travel Plan Champion takes the role of overseeing the development and implementation of thr Travel Plan. They are responsible for making sure that the school is doing its best to achieve its aims and targets.

The Travel Plan Champion need not be just one individual, indeed schools that set up a team of Travel Plan Champions often see more success. The team could include students, teachers, parents and representatives from the local community. Usually the tole of School Travel Plan Champions is undertaken by older pupils, such as those in Year 6.

Roles of Travel Plan Champion(s):

• Be the first port of call for any queries and questions about the School Travel Plan.
• Help deliver initiatives as part of the School Action Plan.
• Lead by example.
• Help with the monitoring and evaluation of the School Travel Plan.
• Update the whole school community on the progress of Travel Plan – potentially via newsletter, social media updates or assemblies.
