Travel plan to support a planning application

A formal Travel Plan document is often required either to submit alongside a planning application, or as a condition of a planning permission.

Many of the aspects of producing a Travel Plan document are included in this toolkit (site audit, baseline surveys, measures, etc.) However, although the toolkit is focused on initiatives to encourage walking, cycling, and public transport to and from school, it is not designed to replace the requirement for a Travel Plan document supporting a planning application.

We recommend you contact VIA East Midlands Ltd. (part of Nottinghamshire County Council) for advice on preparing a Travel Plan document in relation to a planning application. This will ensure you have the correct information to submit alongside your planning application.
