Valley young people’s centre celebrates 10th anniversary
Members of Valley young people’s centre marked the 10th anniversary of moving into a new purpose-built building.
Over the past ten years the centre has welcomed more than 5,000 young people and 40,000 visitors.
Although 2020 was been a difficult time for many people, with the impact of the coronavirus, staff at the centre kept in touch with young people and members were involved in activities where possible, like the Shadow project, following all public health guidance.

The centre offers a safe, warm and welcoming place for young people to grow, develop and achieve.
It’s been involved in numerous community events and activities over the years, including fun runs, raising money for charities, sports, arts and crafts.
History of the centre
Valley youth club used to be based in the 6th form block of the old Valley school. When the old school was demolished, the club was held in portacabins for several years before moving into its own purpose-built centre in 2010.
The centre has been instrumental in helping young people move through challenging periods of their lives, offering access to skilled workers who could listen and guide them in the right direction.
