Digital Connectivity Framework

Internet Connectivity is vitally important; the internet powers so many aspects of our everyday lives, such as banking, shopping, gaming, entertainment, healthcare, education and work, that a gap in opportunities opens up between those people who have good internet access and those who don’t. This gap is known as the ‘Digital Divide’.

By focussing on county-wide, robust digital connectivity, we can enhance the accessibility of public services, boost local businesses, and help to bridge the digital divide. In doing so, we can reduce all the negative impacts on those people who struggle to get online.

The Nottinghamshire Digital Connectivity Framework [PDF] sets out a blueprint for the future of internet connectivity in Nottinghamshire, including our goal to make our county the best-connected in the UK. It was developed in consultation with our partners in the public, private and charity sectors.

The framework enables all stakeholders to recognise the contributions they can make towards our connectivity goals and understand the actions that collectively we need to take. It is a key aspect of our role to provide Nottinghamshire’s internet connectivity vision and ambitions, which is what our framework sets out to do.
