Procurement strategy 2019 to 2023

The procurement strategy sets out the vision for procurement going forward and how it helps provide the best possible services for local people, improve the place in which we live and deliver good value for money.

The Procurement Strategy will focus on three key objectives:

Ensure Best Value

• Achieve value of money and efficiency through procurement activity.
• Ensure we attain value for money in terms of both whole life cost and quality.
• Drive and encourage innovation where it can reduce cost and improve effectiveness

Maximise Social Value

• Create employment and training opportunities through contracts
• Ensure we retain as much of every pound we spend within Nottinghamshire
• Encourage a strong, diverse local market.

Enhance Leadership

• Management Information – Improve expenditure analysis with third party providers
• Excellence in Category Management
• Best practice e-procurement, reducing transaction costs, increasing spend compliance, control and consistency.
