About this course

The intention of this programme is to introduce Well Comm – a speech and language toolkit for screening and intervention in the Early Years.

This toolkit enables Early Years practitioners to regularly assess children’s speech and language and to identify children at risk of delayed communication skills. The programme also offers a range of interventions to help practitioners target their teaching and improve children’s communication skills where necessary.

What does the programme include?
•    One half day free training on the use of the toolkit
•    Ongoing support each term from the Early Years Quality and Attainment team.
•    Provision of the screening toolkit and all supporting booklets. Cost to provider £50. (The full price would be £571.25- the remainder will be funded by Nottinghamshire Early Years and Family Hubs). If at any point the toolkit is found to not be in use or lost, there will be an expectation to return the complete toolkit in good repair or pay the remaining £440 to Nottinghamshire Early Childhood Services.
When you register to be part of this programme you will be sent a further short application form to be completed and returned BEFORE the training takes place. This is a pre-requisite of attending the training.
