Previous Local Transport Plan

Nottinghamshire County Council previously had two local transport plans. The plans set out the aims, objectives and strategies for achieving more sustainable and integrated transport throughout Nottinghamshire during the period 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2011.

North Nottinghamshire Local Transport Plan 2006-2011

You can download a summary of the previous Local Transport Plan [PDF]. Alternatively you can download the North Nottinghamshire Plan for 2006-2011, covering the districts of Ashfield (excluding Hucknall), Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood, by individual chapters.

North Nottinghamshire Local Transport Plan Progress Report 2008  

The North Nottinghamshire Progress Report [PDF] details the progress that was made towards delivering the 2006-2011 Local Transport Plan's objectives and targets. It also details the challenges that were faced in delivering the objectives and targets.

Strategic Environmental Assessment of the North Nottinghamshire Local Transport Plan 2006-2011

As part of the development of the local transport plans, the County Council also looks at the effects that the local transport plans will have on the environment. This includes issues such as noise levels, air pollution, wildlife and climate change. It also includes how transport affects health, crime and accessibility. This process is known as the strategic environmental assessment.

North Nottinghamshire Accessibility Strategy

Accessibility strategies are an integral part of the second local transport plans. The strategies detail the work the Council and its partners has undertaken to understand the problems people have accessing key services, such as work, training, healthcare, shops and leisure facilities, and identifies actions to improve access to these services.

North Nottinghamshire Delivery Report

In July 2006 the County Council produced a five year local transport plan delivery report. The report details the progress made towards achieving the first local transport plan objectives and targets during 2001 to 2006.

Greater Nottingham Local Transport Plan 2006-2011

You can download a summary of the previous Local Transport Plan [PDF]. The Greater Nottingham Plan 2006-2011 was developed in partnership with Nottingham City Council. You can download the Greater Nottingham Plan, covering the Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe districts, as well as Hucknall and the City of Nottingham, by individual chapters.

Greater Nottingham air quality management areas

Air quality management areas are declared where assessment and monitoring highlights that acceptable levels of air pollutants have been exceeded. Rushcliffe Borough Council has declared two transport related air quality management areas around Lady Bay Bridge and Trent Bridge and the County Council is working with Rushcliffe Borough Council to address these.

Greater Nottingham Congestion Delivery Plan

Greater Nottingham is one of the largest urban areas in the country. The County Council and Nottingham City Council developed a Congestion Delivery Plan [PDF] to look at ways of restricting congestion from traffic growth in the Greater Nottingham area.
